Main function:

Prevents medium reverse flow, and the pump and motor from reversing. It can discharge medium from the container and provide make-up to auxiliary systems exceeding main system pressure. Also controls pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder speed.

Structural classification:

Working principle:

Includes swing, lift, and butterfly check valves. Swing check valve discs rotate with less fluid resistance. Lift check valve discs slide with good but higher resistance. Butterfly check valve discs rotate with simple structure and small resistance but less sealing.

When inlet fluid pressure exceeds outlet, the fluid thrust surpasses the valve disc's resistance, opening the valve. If inlet pressure drops or outlet pressure rises, gravity and reverse pressure close the valve to prevent backflow.
